Bebe's Kids Trailer

http://www.rarchivist.com
Christopher Blair's insight:

Bebes kids, this was the movie of the (90's)  this movie described the steriotypical black "ghetto situation." it talked about how a man fell in love with a woman and puts up with her child and her friends children just so he can impress her. throughout the movie th " ghetto kids" go around causing all types of mayhem. Even though it was written by an African American, it represented the African American people in such a negitive way. In the 1990"s African Americans werent exactly active and " educated to thier full potential", so by producing this cartoon  Reginald Hudlin inadvertently helped demolished an already oppressed people.

Christopher Blair's insight:

Mickey Mouse is one of americas oldest cartoons . It symbolizes the simplisity of the Animation. Does it really? Mickey Mouse cartoons were dirived from the imfamous black face cartoon, and is still used today. Walt Disney didnt want to stir up contraversey so insted of making it a black faced cartoon he made mickey a mouse.

Banned Cartoons Betty Boop Popeye The Sailor With Betty Boop 1

Christopher Blair's insight:

This cartoon has been banned and rightly so aparently betty boot was black but only in this role where she play a native girl who is basicaly half naked that symbolizes the fact that in the 1950s and 1960s most women of forign decent had no moral ideas and no socialy correct way of behaving. As soon as the shiped docked we saw a dog that told popyes girlfriend "hey toots" he was suppose to be the "dirty Black man" . Most of the dogs in the video were suppose to be steriotpical black men, they had black skin pink lips and gloves which actually portaid the imfamous black faced cartoons.

The Most Racist Cartoon Ever!

Christopher Blair's insight:

This cartoon was produced in 1945 and becuse of the racial steriotype of the african american this is what they came up with. in this cartoon we are portraid as ignorant lazy animals. Though we are the hands that created this country to be the force that it is to day, we' re considered to be the laziest race on the the planet.  it also divides us in our own race, as the lighter skinned woman was supposed to be the better person because " lighter is better".

Christopher Blair's insight:

The little Mermaid was a heartfelt movie from disney about love. Also about how good always triumphs over evil.  Or is it? This picture depicts the subliminal message that shows a penis in the caste. This subleminal message had gone unoticed for over 13 years.

All This and Rabbit Stew

Early Bugs Bunny cartoon featuring a young African American version of Elmer Fudd who goes through similar punishment at the hands of original G, Mr. B to th...
Christopher Blair's insight:

This episode of Bugs Bunny was a stepping stone for cartoon every where. this is the first time in history that a villan was actualy of a decent other than white. The "black guy" in the film has distinct steriotypical charicteristics such as big lips big eyes and a lazy attitude. After this cartoon aired it opened up a new window for animation. The villans in cartoons now have distinct charicterisic that seperates them from all other social norms. Even today in most cartoons. for example in thehit televison show you Phineas and Ferb the "evil villan" is Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, now just from the name you can see he is forign and it shows all his plans backfiring on him and this depicts him and all other forigners as being "Dumb"

Short'nin' Bread - Cartoon

Mammy's little baby loves short'nin bread.
Christopher Blair's insight:

This particular artifact , at first glance, seems to be about happy food. well it is but the main part of focus is the ending song. As the song is sung with great joy it actally has a very ironic origin. The sog "Mammys Little Baby" reffers to the days of slavery. Mammy is the generic name for the black female house slave. Its actualy wierd that he woman supposedly portraying Mammy is white. Well tis song was a type of nursery rhyme that the 'Mammys" used to help her children sleep, no the reason "Mammys little baby loves shortnin" is because shortining was all  that the slaves were given food wise. So this song was realy comercialized to a sort of classic "happy song".

Christopher Blair's insight:

This cartoon was is a product of Disneys " good vs bad idea". in the beging one o disney's finest ( Donald Duck) is portraid as a Nazi soldier. in this cartoon the conditions are described as horible and unliveable. At the end Donalds wakes up and realize hes in america and is unbelievably thankful for being an american citizen. WW2  had a huge influence on the US and eventualy made its way into chidrens programing.
