Schools aslo need to expand the what they teach their students in health classes. Educating children on vaccines would be good so the children understand why they need them because theyre important. Toxins in foods and fluoride in water would also be good for kids to know because they make decisions on what to eat and drink everyday and should be able to make the right decision on their own.

The dangers of medicine and the dangers that are easily overlooked with them should also be taught to students so they can be careful when dealing with them. The chemicals and vitemins in what they put in their bodies is another thing children need to learn about. The many health risks that children dont learn about in school are very dangerous and need to be brought to their attention.

Most parents focus on their children learning Reading, Writing, and Mathematic but they usually overlook Health Education in schools. Health is taught from Kindergarden through High School because children need to start to learn about the life long risks of poor health. Nutrition, disease prevention, drug and alcohol, and reproduction are just some of the main areas of health that children should be introduced to in schools. By being taught Health in schools students benefit the knowledge of life long skills.

It is important for children to learn the risks of health decisions early. If a child grows up without the proper education on making choices that will effect their health dramatically, it is easy for them to make a bad decision that can lead to serious health issues. When children are 8-9 it is not too early for them to start to learn about the harms of tobacco and alcohol.

These middle years of childhood (8-9) is also the time to develop nutrition and exercise habits that will last their lifetime. The habits that they gain now are most likely going to carry on into young adulthood and eventually adulthood. It is also important for children to learn how to say no to health risks as they are coming up on the ages that are involved in drugs and alcohol.

what students learn at an early age is easily carried on into their adulthood. It is much easier to start teaching children the right health habits than to try and change an adults bad health habits. Health Education in schools has a large impact on the health of our nation.
