For the next 10 years I made Jewelry Boxes and did some "hot glass "work. Talk about hi-tech to no tech! . I have been doing hobby metalworking since 1997 or so, recently getting involved with casting aluminum as well. Much of my tooling and machines were obtained at auctions while living in Wisconsin, close to Milwaukee.

Erinn Vanderlin's insight:
I moved to the rural Missouri Ozarks in late July, 2001, after "completly retiring". I am really out in the boonies, 11 miles out of Shell Knob, on beautiful Table Rock Lake. The clincher to decide to move was when my Wisconsin Property taxes reached what I consider an obscene level. If I stayed there, there is no way I could have afforded to retire. In my first life I was an Electronics Engineer. When the company I worked for moved, I opted to change careers.
