Google is reportedly working on a photo-sharing app for smartphones, in a move to compete with Facebook on the social networking front.
The app, known as "Pool Party," lets users upload photos from their smartphones to albums in real-time. Unlike other photo apps, Pool Party, currently in invite-beta only, allows multiple users to upload photos to one album.
Pool Party is another step for Google into social networking.

There's a lot to like about Google Plus, the new social network from everyone's favorite search engine: the design, the thoughtfully created and easy-to-use privacy settings (Circles), the built in mobile chatting (Huddles) and video chatting (Hangouts) features, the smart news reader (Sparks), and more. But if Google Plus had one "killer" feature, it would definitely be the instant photo uploads from Android.

Why is this? Because it's the one feature that will actually encourage adoption.

In addition to Google+, Google seems to be working on more social projects to compete against the likes of Twitter and Facebook, and now it’s discovered that a Slide team within Google is working on a photo sharing app and service called Pool Party.

The secretive service, still in beta, isn’t accessible yet without an invite though Google did manage to snag the PoolPartyApp.com domain as well as launch an Android and iOS app in the respective platform’s app stores.
