Google reportedly plans to verify Google+ profiles in Hollywood push | The Google+ Project | Scoop.it
Google is reportedly drawing up a “celebrity acquisition plan” to help publicise its new Google+ social network to become well-known by prominent actors, musicians and other public figures, CNN has revealed.
The system would operate similarly to the way Twitter authenticates celebrities on its service, with Google reported to be pondering the inclusion of a button that would be present on legitimate profiles.

Google To Launch Verified Google+ Accounts for Celebs [REPORT]

Following in Twitter's footsteps, which quickly realized that brands and celebrities want a way to claim their identity on the service, Google plans to verify the identities of public figures on its social network, Google+, CNN reports.

According to Hollywood consultant Brett Schulte, Google is "very interested in having celebrities", and is currently looking at several different methods for the verification process. The plan is unconfirmed by Google, but the company recently told brands and businesses not to create Google+ profiles just yet, as it works on a better experience for them.

William Shatner's Google+ account was temporarily disabled today, the "Star Trek" star announced on his Twitter account this morning.
"My Google+ account was flagged for violating standards," Shatner tweeted on his official Twitter account. "Saying hello to everyone apparently is against the rules. Maybe I should say goodbye?"

Now it's time to tackle celebrities on Google+. There aren't that many on Google+ yet, so I've had to dig deep to find them. Many of them are very active on Google+, so they're great additions to your circles!
Although Google+ has been weeding out fake accounts, they do not currently have a system for celebrities to verify whether their accounts are legitimate or not.

Looks like Google+ isn't only for nerds like me, unless Ashton Kutcher is also a nerd, oh maybe he is.

Ashton Kutcher admits he needs more practice inside.
The famous Hollywood star is the latest member of still-exclusive and hard-to-join Google+ social networking site launched by Google last Thursday. No official word yet about the exact date of Kutcher’s inclusion inside G Plus, but his first post was recorded July 1st.
He said, “sweet. another thing for me to post on.”
