A GRANDMOTHER is enjoying spending quality time with her grandchildren thanks to an East Oxford theatre.
Viv Peto, from Cowley, first discovered her love of the stage ten years ago after signing up for projects at the Pegasus Theatre.
Since then, three of her six grandchildren have joined her to tread the boards in the Magdalen Road project’s productions. The latest additions are six-year old Nell and 15-year-old Bill Peto, both from Cowley.
WHAT'S the difference between federal politics and The Hunger Games?
One is the story of a fight to the death, the other a bestselling book and movie. Both make us want to cover our eyes and look away.
Tony Abbott started the last parliamentary week stunned that Julia Gillard was still in the game. "Gillard won't lie down and die and where there's life there's fight," he told his party room.
He finished it trying to scurry out of the chamber to avoid a vote like a kid who'd let off a stink bomb in the classroom.
Is it any wonder that back in the real world, people are begging for mercy and tuning out of politics in their droves?
If you reckon they're all as bad as each other, and voting for them only encourages them, you're not alone. Last week came confirmation that more than 1.5 million Australians have given up on the major parties and our democratic system. That's the number of people who should have voted at the last federal election, but didn't show up.
