Fashion retailer H&M has been hailed as the biggest user of organic cotton worldwide for the second consecutive year in 2011, according to Textile Exchange´s latest Global Sustainable Textiles Market Report.

 

In addition to increasing its use of organic cotton, the retailer has also boosted its use of Better Cotton as part of the Better Cotton Initiative which is helping cotton farmers to grow more cotton with less water and fewer chemicals.

The Muséum national d’histoire naturelle has launched its annual publicity drive around its participative event, Vigie Nature, which encourages people to rediscover nature in their immediate surroundings. I spoke to Romain Julliard, organiser of the initiative, to find out more about the activities and why nature is important in a city like Paris.
