The loss of Alan Turing - not only to the UK but also to the entire world - is incalculable.  At a time when the world had just emerged from a major war that highlighted man's inhumanity to man, his treatment remains a blight on the UK and on homophobia globally.  He doesn't so much deserve a pardon as an acknowledgement that he did no wrong, and was instead killed as the result of an entire social injustice.
