Yahoo has banned its staff from "remote" working. After years of predictions, why is working from home not the norm?
Kevin Friery's insight:
"Speed and quality are often sacrificed when we work from home" - does anybody really believe this is true? This is not a brave move, it is one that ignores social development in the 21st century and underlines a clear failure to understand the changing world of work. Presence should never be confused with productivity, visibility does not equate to engagement. If I worked for Yahoo I would be wondering exactly how senior managemnt viewed the workforce.
A total of 27 beef burger products were analysed with 10 of the 27 products (37%) testing positive for horse DNA and 23 (85%) testing positive for pig DNA. In addition, 31 beef meal products (cottage pie, beef curry pie, lasagne, etc) were analysed of which 21 were positive for pig DNA and all were negative for horse DNA. All 19 salami products analysed tested negative for horse DNA. Traces of horse DNA were also detected in batches of raw ingredients, including some imported from The Netherlands and Spain.

I am so pleased Lenkiewicz's work will now be seen. He lived in Devon when I was there, and I was always fascinated by the alienation between him and some of the grandees of the arts establishment. He was certainly unconventional, but some of his paintings that I have seen are incredibly moving.
Something quite remarkable happened in London in the first decade of the new millennium. The number of white British people in the capital fell by 620,000 - equivalent to the entire population of Glasgow moving out.
