They call themselves the funne (pronounced FOO-neh), which in their dialect means "women". Their average age is 80, many are widows, and the majority have never seen the sea.

A Catholic Church official has apologised after a priest told parishioners that had murdered Melbourne woman Jill Meagher's faith been stronger, she would have been "home in bed" and not walking down a street on the night she was brutally raped and killed.

"Be 'faith-filled' and don't get raped."  Rage at every level. The Catholic Church apology doesn't go even near the issues.

 

You note, of course, that the rapist wasn't expected to 'faith-filled' in order to avoid raping.
