5 Super Simple Steps to Easily Put Your Social Marketing on Steroids!

5 Super Simple Steps to Easily Put Your Social Marketing on Steroids! | The Geeky Horse | Scoop.it

Blog post at KOmarketer.com : Do you really need people to share your stuff on social media? The answer is a resounding YES!

In today’s world, every business should.

Lone Horse Endeavors's insight:

I swear the more I use social media, the more I learn about it. It's strange how this has just exploded over the last 5 years or so. In college, the Internet was a bunch of computers hooked together through monochrome monitors and a search engine named Gopher, not Google.

Now, almost 20 years later, it seems that the virtual world is just alive and active as the real one. Of course, there is dangers and pitfalls, to this reality. Unless it a major brand or player, you don't know who you are really dealing with. You don't have the subtle non-verbal communication cues that come with dealing with a person face to face. And privacy is questionable at best, and probably really doesn't even exist.

What we really have to worry about though, is 19th Century thinking taking over the 21st Century technology. Despite the apparent freedom to express one self, money and power still control what happens. And we just all need to be aware of that and more informed about what's going on with the rules and regulations that govern something we all take for granted.

On a less serious and much happier note, I'm excited about the potential that social media has for promoting my books. Sure, I'll still have to do the in person stuff. But, through virtual means, I'm not limited by my physical location. I will have both a national and international audience if I working my marketing strategy right. I'm also grateful to my fellow social media junkies for teaching me what I need to know.

Social Media Don’ts You Should Avoid : |

Social Media Don’ts You Should Avoid : | | The Geeky Horse | Scoop.it

Social media marketing can be an excellent way to connect with your current and potential customers. When used correctly, it can increase brand awareness, create brand loyalty and help get you get the attention of new potential customers. However, when used the wrong way, it can end up annoying customers and driving them away. Here’s how to avoid the 5 social media marketing “don’ts” so this doesn’t happen to you.

Lone Horse Endeavors's insight:

Interesting. You'd think it would be common sense not to post the same exact message on all the social networks that you participate in. Yet, all the social networks give you the tools to do exactly that.

I also like the point about not using your social media network only as a sales tool. That goes along with something that I read when I first started experimenting with  Twitter. Social networking is about preaching, it's about building a community.

I don't usually post virus warnings because they are well-meaning but sometimes false positive. This isn't one of those times. It's serious and could conceivably affect over half the Internet.
