1 the idea of chemical/scent sensors for you phone would be very convenient. Saving money of looking after and training dogs. Instead just whipping out the security smart phones. Even just to be able to hold you phone up to a flower and have it reccomend a perfume of google by some brand, the origin of the flower and info behind it all show up for you on the web on your mobile device. FASCINATING

How much will we rely on our phone. This would be great, Planet wise, saving paper. But is it taking it too far? Then again it would be great if you could just put you order through and all. No more mistakes from the waitress.

Google Glass: Device threatens privacy, says Stop the Cyborgs movement | Financial Post

Google Glass: Device threatens privacy, says Stop the Cyborgs movement | Financial Post | The Future for You and Your Smart Phone | Scoop.it

"A group called Stop the Cyborgs launched recently with the motto "Fighting the algorithmic future one bit at a time" to drum up debate about Glass, Google's much-hyped Internet-powered glasses...

Not everyone is falling into fits of paranoia over Google Glass, though. Some observers argue it could actually be a force for good.

Take TechCrunch’s Jon Evans’s point: “To a limited extent I actually want Google Glass surveillance, in an uneasy Pandora’s-box kind of way. I want police officers, border guards, and other authorities to be required to wear them every moment that they’re on duty, and I want that data to be available to those who report police brutality or other abuses of authority . . . I want street protestors to be videoing the authorities at all times. I do not trust the powers that be.”...

The underlying assumption of the 'evolution' of technology - this tech naturally leads to that is striking in terms of how Google Glass is framed. As if it is now natural to want to do record & stream video from a headset.

Kexin Jin's curator insight, March 21, 2013 9:09 AM

I agree with "Google Glasses represent a developmental leap in the history of data that is comparable to moving from the bicycle to the automobile." Google Glasses could be privacy threat but so does camera, PC, mobile phone. A project dont have "good" or "bad", it depends on the person who use it.

Would You Rather Have Google Glass or a Smart Watch?
Mashable
There's a chance that neither will catch on, but there's also the possibility that both will and the tech world will be divided by watch people and Glass people.
Paige Byers's insight:

I personally love the sound of both, i can imagine both being quite annoying though. It is sad in a way, we use and love our technology so much that we would wear it. On the other hand we are practically wearing our phones these days.

A watch would get knocked around a lot and glasses can be annoying for some. (But i have never tried them, so what do i know)
