A leading Australian winery has returned to cork after five years of "persistent quality control issues" using screwcaps.
Rusden Wines is abandoning screwcap for cork citing bottle variation, 'sweaty' characteristics and reductive notes. In plain terms they just think that screwcaps are bad for their unfilitered craft wines.
They follow a short, but notable, list of wineries returning to cork. Maybe the tree farmers of Portugal will enjoy a new revival? Via David Swaddle Delete the scoop?
