Attention Leads to Learning by the famous J. Krishnamurti >>> Must See | The Ethos of Neuro-Linguistic-Programming | Scoop.it

Inattention and Attention...

"You must understand the whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing and dance, and write poems and suffer and understand, for all that is life."
Jiddu Krishnamurti

Jiddu Krishnamurti (May 1895 – February 17, 1986) was an Indian speaker and writer on philosophical and spiritual subjects.

In his early life he was groomed to be the new World Teacher but later rejected this mantle and disbanded the organisation behind it.

His subject matter included: psychological revolution, the nature of mind, meditation, inquiry, human relationships, and bringing about radical change in society.

He constantly stressed the need for a revolution in the psyche of every human being and emphasized that such revolution cannot be brought about by any external entity, be it religious, political, or social.

I Can Do It!: How to Use Affirmations to Change Your Life by Louise Hay[Full Audio Book]

In this concise yet information-packed book—which you can listen to on the enclosed CD or read at your leisure—bestselling author Louise L. Hay shows you that you "can do it"—that is, change and improve virtually every aspect of your life—by understanding and using affirmations correctly.

Louise explains that every thought you think and every word you speak is an affirmation.

Even your self-talk, your internal dialogue, is a stream of affirmations.

You're affirming and creating your life experiences with every word and thought. Your beliefs are merely habitual thinking patterns that you learned as a child, and many of them work very well for you.

But other beliefs may be limiting your ability to create the very things you say you want.

You need to pay attention to your thoughts so that you can begin to eliminate the ones creating experiences that you don't want.

As Louise discusses topics such as health, forgiveness, prosperity, creativity, relationships, job success, and self-esteem, you'll see that affirmations are solutions that will replace whatever problem you might have in a particular area.

By the end of this book, you'll be able to say "I can do it" with confidence, knowing that you're on your way to the wonderful, joy-filled life you deserve.

About the Author
Louise L. Hay is a metaphysical lecturer and teacher, and the bestselling author of 27 books, including You Can Heal Your Life and Empowering Women.

Her works have been translated into 25 different languages in 33 countries throughout the world.

Since beginning her career as a Science of Mind minister in 1981, she has assisted thousands of people in discovering and using the full potential of their own creative powers for personal growth and self-healing. Louise is the owner and founder of Hay House, Inc.

Panic Attacks De-mystified

Panic Attacks De-mystified | The Ethos of Neuro-Linguistic-Programming | Scoop.it
Panics attacks - understand and deal with them using NLP and other practical methods...

The first panic attack can be terrifying. It appears to come out of the blue and we don't know what it is or why it is occurring.

Understanding what is going on demystifies the panic habit and provides a route to managing it.

Why panics occur?

They start… usually as a delayed response to a period of intense or prolonged stress: to how we have been handling everyday stressors, adjusting to significant life changes, and dealing with our emotions.

They often begin some months after the stressful period, just when we thought we had put it all behind us.

Imagine a glass of water - half full - that's a typical person's stress-level.

As long as it doesn't overflow we feel we are coping - even if, in reality, the level is a bit too high.

But when things happen too fast, one after another, our coping ability gets a bit frayed and the 'glass' overflows.

That's the panic experience.

They are maintained… by our fear of them. Even when the cause of the glass 'overflowing' has passed our fear of another panic prevents the level dropping - we're into the panic habit!

The level of water is right up to the rim and is maintained there by our fear of having a panic attack.

What to do about them?

......

I have not had any isues since, although I have deliberately and repeatedly thrown myself into the deep end, just challenging my body and mind and have gratefully came to the other side clear of it. No running nose, no cough, no antihistamines etc. I have travelled several times on long flights, its been raining etc - ZERO symptoms! Yippeeeee!"

The Effects of Clinical Hypnosis versus Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) before External Cephalic Version (ECV)

The Effects of Clinical Hypnosis versus Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) before External Cephalic Version (ECV) | The Ethos of Neuro-Linguistic-Programming | Scoop.it

Post

Objective:

To examine the effects of clinical hypnosis versus NLP intervention on the success rate of ECV procedures in comparison to a control group. Methods.

A prospective off-centre randomised trial of a clinical hypnosis intervention against NLP of women with a singleton breech fetus at or after 37(0/7) (259 days) weeks of gestation and normal amniotic fluid index. All 80 participants heard a 20-minute recorded intervention via head phones.

Main outcome assessed was success rate of ECV. The intervention groups were compared with a control group with standard medical care alone (n = 122). Results.

A total of 42 women, who received a hypnosis intervention prior to ECV, had a 40.5% (n = 17), successful ECV, whereas 38 women, who received NLP, had a 44.7% (n = 17) successful ECV (P > 0.05).

The control group had similar patient characteristics compared to the intervention groups (P > 0.05). In the control group (n = 122) 27.3% (n = 33) had a statistically significant lower successful ECV procedure than NLP (P = 0.05) and hypnosis and NLP (P = 0.03).

Conclusions:

These findings suggest that prior clinical hypnosis and NLP have similar success rates of ECV procedures and are both superior to standard medical care alone.

How To Become Successful By Changing Your Self-Image

How To Become Successful By Changing Your Self-Image | The Ethos of Neuro-Linguistic-Programming | Scoop.it

There are many books written on how to become successful.

Unfortunately, many of them only focus on taking certain actions to achieve success such as calling more prospects for business success or having stricter diet for weight loss success.

To become truly successful you have to dig deeper than that.

You can only become as successful as your self-image allows you to become.

Negative self-image is the exact reason why some people seem to never achieve anything great.

They try their best, they listen to uplifting audio messages, they try to be as positive as they can, but their results stay exactly the same...

If you have a negative self-image, you cannot achieve success because that would contradict with who you currently are.

The feelings of fear, being not good enough or distrust of your own abilities are the indicators that you want to pursue something greater than your self-image allows you to have...

How to change your self-image >>>

NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING AS AN INNOVATION IN EDUCATION AND TEACHING

NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING AS AN INNOVATION IN EDUCATION AND TEACHING | The Ethos of Neuro-Linguistic-Programming | Scoop.it

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), an emergent, contested approach to

communication and personal development created in the 1970’s, has become

increasingly familiar in education and teaching. There is little academic work on NLP to date.

This article offers an informed introduction to, and appraisal of, the field for

educators. We review the origins of NLP, and summarise its nature as a method of, and conceptual framework for, education and teaching, with brief examples of applications.

We argue that NLP offers an innovative praxis, underpinned in principle by Bateson’s epistemological thinking, which informs a distinctive methodology known as `modelling’i. The credibility of the field relies, in our view, on its ability to address seven critical issues.

These form a possible research agenda and a focus for dialogue between NLP practitioner and academic communities.

Resolving Conflicts With NLP

Resolving Conflicts With NLP | The Ethos of Neuro-Linguistic-Programming | Scoop.it

Conflict is defined as "a state of disharmony between incompatible or antithetical persons, ideas, or interests."

Psychologically, conflict is a mental struggle, sometimes unconscious, resulting when different representations of the world are held in opposition or exclusivity.

Conflicts can occur either between parts of ourselves internally (inner conflict) or externally with others (interpersonal conflict).

Interpersonally, different individual's maps of reality are sometimes so diverse that "bumps" arise when they attempt to communicate or interact together.

Basic assumptions, beliefs, values and presuppositions about the world become clustered together to create different models of reality.

When these models or maps don't contain mechanisms for responding creatively to "bumps" with other maps, energy is released in the form of disagreement, dispute, fighting, or other forms of conflict.

Negotiation, mediation and arbitration are all various forms of managing interpersonal conflicts...

"We have a strong personal interest in assisting people to heal from cancer. Like most NLP based health practitioners, we have seen clients heal cancer using NLP processes, and we have also seen clients die from cancer.

However we know that cancer can be healed using mind-body processes, and it can be healed on a consistent basis.

We are talking about a research study based on over 300,000 people which shows over 95% effectiveness.

The methods used in the world's largest study on medicine-free healing of cancer are almost entirely familiar to NLP Practitioners, with one key exception. In the first part of this article we will document the research into these methods, and explain their basis in immunology.

In the second part of the article, we describe a format for the effective healing of cancer and similar life threatening illnesses.

We will also explain the one process which we consider is missing in current NLP treatment formats, and suggest an answer to one of the most disturbing questions in NLP: "If NLP is so good, why do so many of our clients with cancer not improve?"

Six step reframing is gentle and respectful technique which can be used for any behaviour change.

This is one of the most 'hypnotic' of all NLP techniques and as such the congruence, beliefs and state of the practitioner is key.

You need to have the mindset that your client absolutely does have the answer!

1. Identify the pattern of behaviour to be changed (X)...

2. Establish communication with the part that generates the behaviour...

3. Separate the intention from behaviour...

4. Create alternative behaviour to satisfy the positive intension...

5. Ask if part X would accept the new choices and the responsibility for generating them when needed...

6. Ecological check. Ask that part that has been responding to be unresponsive (still, silent, etc.) then:...

7. Now Go And Do It! - Test! Then Future Pace! Ensure full integration...

NLP acknowledges a distinction between what we observe and what we think about what we observe.
