Western intelligence agencies believe that al-Qaeda doctors have been trained to implant bombs inside the bodies of suicide bombers, Britain's Sunday Times reported.

The doctors, thought to have been trained by a man who worked with the top bomb-maker for al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), have the ability to put explosive compounds in breasts and abdomens of suicide bombers, the newspaper reported without citing its sources.

Dos millones de mujeres están infectadas con el virus del papiloma humano (VPH) en España y los investigadores consideran que una iniciación sexual más temprana y un mayor número de parejas sexuales podrían contribuir en este incremento, según un estudio epidemiológico elaborado por el Instituto Catalán de Oncología (ICO).

El responsable del estudio y jefe de la Unidad de Infecciones y Cáncer del ICO, Xavier Castellsagué, atribuyó a "nuevas conductas" sexuales el aumento del número de personas infectadas, "que es más frecuente de lo que podíamos pensar, especialmente en mujeres jóvenes", según difundió el sitio Publico.es.

"Científicos españoles y estadunidenses lograron frenar, durante seis meses, la progresión de uno de los tipos más agresivos de cáncer de mama, que además se dispersa rápidamente a otras zonas del cuerpo, conocido como cáncer de mama metastásico HER 2 positivo. Este cáncer afecta a una de cada cuatro pacientes con problemas oncológicos en el pecho o senos.  Lograr este freno en la acelerada progresión del cáncer se considera un logro terapéutico porque además de prolongar el tiempo y calidad de vida de las mujeres afectadas por este cáncer, aumentó en 10% el porcentaje de pacientes que respondían favorablemente al tratamiento, según reportó el equipo español, encabezado por el doctor José Baselga, en la revista médica más prestigiada del mundo The New England Journal of Medicine."
