"I got a recording of the teacher talking to me about my paper?  What if I got individualized feedback from my teacher where he or she is talking to me. " -- COOL! A LOT of work, but cool!

online4ed's curator insight, June 7, 7:38 AM

I use this strategy and students tend to really appreciate it. Yes, a lot more work because I still make all the comments on the text, but worth it if it helps students apply suggestions, right?

Common Core: Assessing the real level of support

Common Core: Assessing the real level of support | Daring Library Ed Tech | Scoop.it
Why claiming that a majority supports, believes, or conforms to X, Y, or Z is a shaky claim at best, and a likely flawed one at worst.

Internet Safety for Parents and Teens

Internet Safety for Parents and Teens | Daring Library Ed Tech | Scoop.it
gwynethjones's insight:

Dated, Embarrassing & Cringeworthy Early Webpage

It's not the DEVICE it's the DECISION of the teen that makes a difference! I've been preaching internet safety (now awareness) since 97 and this is one of my most embarrassing early webpages created in 2000 first for Maryland Public Television & later updated for the Horizon Foundation.

There are a LOT of cringeworthy Don'ts there that I don't believe in anymore! I've come to realize that we have to sometimes let kids make the right (or wrong!) choice so that they can learn the right lesson and that the world is NOT filtered we've gotta teach ethics! IN ALL Things not just technology!

Or as I said in 2000: "The most effective, reliable, Internet Safety Filter is an Involved, Informed, and Aware Parent  and an Educated and Ethical Kid."*

And here's my 2013 UPDATE--->> http://www.flickr.com/photos/info_grrl/5727037221/

Richard Seal's curator insight, May 30, 10:15 AM

Ivon Prefontaine's curator insight, May 30, 10:33 AM
