Checklist: What 9 things can help you make better decisions? | The Daily Leadership Scoop | Scoop.it

Francesca Gino is a professor at Harvard Business School and has done a number of fascinating studies in social psychology exploring the sometimes crazy things that influence your behavior and the biases the human mind seems inherently prone to.

In her book Sidetracked: Why Our Decisions Get Derailed, and How We Can Stick to the Plan she compiles many of her findings and lays out a strategy for overcoming your brain’s common errors so you can make better decisions.

What are her recommendations?

Also check out the newest from Dan and Chip Heath, "Decisive" it hits the shelves on March 31st but you can find excerpts on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Decisive-Make-Better-Choices-Life/dp/0307956393. In the book they outline an effective model for decision making: WRAP: Widen your options, Reality check your assumptions, Attain distance, and Prepare to be wrong. As with all their books, the Heath brothers lay out stories to illustrate how to employ their strategies as well as compelling examples from business and evidence from science. Great book.

Modes: A New Model for Leadership Development

Modes: A New Model for Leadership Development | The Daily Leadership Scoop | Scoop.it
