We have absolutely no clue about what life will be like when more or less any physical object and its context is observable over the internet, and thus accessible by individuals.
This presentation is good inspiration for what sort of applications one can imagine once everything can be connected.
Different industries have already deployed solutions for monitoring objects and their contexts for professional purposes and we are just now starting to apply that connectivity in a way that allows regular folks to choose what they monitor and what to do with that information.
At Sigfox (http://sigfox.com) we aim to play an important part in that evolution by providing a disruptively cheap and energy efficient way of connecting objects to the Internet. We can't wait to see what people will do with these new technologies. Our tagline is "One network A billion dreams" and dreams is what it is. We already have customers doing amazing things on our network, but once the general public gets their hand on these new connectivity solutions there is no telling where they will bring it.
So bring on the connected evolution and let ordinary people design their connected world!
