Learning the names of our biological parents was a big deal. Locating my dad was also rather significant. Making contact with him…another huge entry in the journal of my life. But nothing had prepared me for the answer to this question: Who gives up adorable little girls anyway?
I’m now facing a much more substantial overhaul of my priorities. After endless days burning both ends of the candle, I recognize that something has to change immediately before I start to unravel at the seams.
When you think of your perfect life, what holds you back? You know there are those niggling doubts there. That part of you that says, "that would be great, but it won't happen for me." Try to get specific.
I am three days in on a major transition in my lifestyle – eliminating crap from my diet, particularly sweets, artificial sweeteners, and processed foods. With the realization that I’ve been a hypocrite in the last 18 months – forgetting to take care of my physical body as I’m so wrapped up in all of my projects and clients – I felt compelled to dive in head first… after a bit of preparation, of course!
My goal: Detoxify my body from the junk I’ve consumed, eliminate the cravings for sugary sweet things, and get back to holistic wellness.
My plan: Combine a juicing cleanse program with the 21 day sugar detox program and review again after three weeks.
I remember with crystal clear clarity (not to mention joy and gratitude) the year I quit guilt. I gave it up cold turkey. And my life changed drastically. Years of beating myself up for my shortcomings, mistakes, and failures were erased in the moment I fully understood just how useless guilt is.
What IS Guilt? Guilt is an emotion that occurs when a person believes that they have violated a moral standard.”
To understand where your guilt comes from, you must first revisit your personal values and core beliefs. You may be holding on to outdated programs that no longer serve you as an adult. You may be giving your power away to a belief system that no longer applies to your life. You need to identify who and what defined the moral standards you believe apply to you, as well as what constitutes a violation.
I realize, that as a holistic health preaching, intuitive life coaching, energy healing practitioner that I am full of $&%t if I continue treating my body like a second class citizen. Technically, that’s hypocrisy. It’s time for me to end the love-hate relationship I have with sugar and sugar substitutes – it’s time for a full throttle sugar detox.
Perhaps we ought to look at our system instead of kicking those who are down. It’s much easier to point fingers and berate others… calling them Freeloaders – but, consider this – the welfare system isn’t set up to help rehabilitate them. The next generation grows up believing they won’t go to college, make decent money, or get out of poverty. They learn to accept it as the way life is… they aren’t even aware that you go to work and a portion of your taxes begrudgingly benefit them.
It is true that life coaching focuses on helping people to 'go within' to connect with their special talents, strengths and abilities and bring these to the fore. But this is just one side of the coin.
The phrase “Go with your gut” is a fairly common one, though we often dismiss our subconscious alert system in favor of what our conscious mind tells us. The thing is, science is discovering that what we call our gut is often a range of physiological reactions to real dangers and opportunities our bodies evolved to recognize for our own good or the good of others.
Are you familiar with the Blame Game? To blame means that you have assigned responsibility for something to someone else. And whether you are aware of it or not, there is a rather high percentage chance that you blame somebody for something that has affected you dramatically.
