A report from early 2013 states that as the Brazilian economy is on the rise, ethanol supply and demand are expected to rise over the next two years. Brazil was expected to produce 26.57 billion liters in 2013, up from 23.51 billion liters in 2012, and in 2014, production is expected to increase to 28.96 billion liters. Imports are also expected to drop from 554 million liters imported in 2012 to 200 million liters, and exports are expected to increase to 2.8 billion liters this year, up from 2.5 billion liters in 2012.
