Researchers explain how they have used the brain's ability to bring together information from different senses to make white people feel that they were inhabiting black bodies and adults feel like they had children's bodies. The results of such virtual bodyswapping experiments are remarkable and have important implications for approaching phenomena such as race and gender discrimination.

Not a big fan of Science Daily as a source of material but this article is quite important.  Bodyswapping is something usually described in the world of science fiction (or more probably, fantasy) but in this case scientists have used virtual machines to make adults feel like they are children and white's to feel like they are black. If only it was that easy...

I always feel bad when I read articles like this. They remind me, again and again, that I have a lot of internal biases and stereotypes in my head, and that I am unaware of most of them.  Looking forward to finding a way of meeting new people without the gender and race baggage that I carry...
