Shepard tone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shepard tone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia | The Boys' Book of Knowledge | Scoop.it

A Shepard tone, named after Roger Shepard, is a sound consisting of a superposition of sine waves separated by octaves. When played with the base pitch of the tone moving upward or downward, it is referred to as the Shepard scale. This creates the auditory illusion of a tone that continually ascends or descends in pitch, yet which ultimately seems to get no higher or lower.

The Thames Path National Trail

The Thames Path National Trail | The Boys' Book of Knowledge | Scoop.it

An unnofficial guide to the Thames Path, a National Trail footpath running for 180 miles along the banks of the river Thames. Starting at the Thames Flood Barrier at Woolwich in South East London it runs along the banks of the Thames to Kemble in Gloucestershire. As it follows the banks of the river, the path is flat, making for easy walking and with much of the river being a busy waterway, there is usually plenty of activity to watch.

Christopher Baggett's comment, January 28, 11:07 AM
Just imagine if you make 100 cold calls per day seeking new business. Those stats are for the "average person". I think that's a conservative estimate.
Christopher Baggett's comment, January 28, 11:13 AM
I've seen some depressing stats on how long the "average person" spent standing in line or on queu back before most things could be handled online. Been to a Post office or the DMV lately?
