Terror at the Boston Marathon

Terror at the Boston Marathon | The Boston Marathon | Scoop.it

With thousands of runners still on the course at the Boston Marathon, two explosions rocked Boylston Street just yards from the finish line. The blasts ripped through crowded spectator viewing stands. The death toll as we publish stands at three and is expected to rise, with over 140 others injured and transported to local hospitals. No arrests have been made. Pleased follow Boston.com for further updates.

Here is the latest update from the "New York Times."  I've always wondered what motivates people to deliberately kill and main innocent people.  What kind of twisted and debased morality guides such people?  Eventually, law enforcement will track these people down and put them on trial.  If I had my way, those found guilty of this crime would be invited to step out of an airplane at 20,000 feet without a parachute.  This is truly an amazing and depraved century in which we live.  Aloha, Russ.

littlebytesnews's curator insight, April 16, 2013 8:21 PM

It happens everytime a mass tragedy occurs...possibly it is antoehr way for some people to cope with the realities of such violence and devestation.

Either way, people shouldn't jump to conclusion without basing it on factual evidence. Otherwise it's all speculation and rumors and at best a conspiracy theory.

I am not a 911 Truther, I believe  real, just as I believe we landed on the moon. I have my doubts about Obama's eligibilty just because he has hidden so much of his past from elementary school records through college records and more.

Overall, I do not believe our government is competent enough to carry out so many 'false flag' attacks successfully and without others spilling the beans. It would take too many people willing to commit treason against our country to          make any of these theories legitimate.

People give too much credit to our incompetent government and need to just accept that there is evil in this world and their are people who want to harm us, whether it be foreign terrorists, domestic terrorists or psychopath nuts like Adam Lanza.

Sadly, these tragedies are often used to limit our freedoms more and give more power to the federal government, especially when we live under a government/leadership that doesn't respect our individual rights and freedoms, such as the Obama administration which has shown they disrespect our Constitution and unalienable rights to bear arms and  other freedoms.

I do still question who the "man on the roof'' is and it doesn't sound like Snopes, which I'm not always a fan of because they are known to lean left, nor ABC has proven it was not someone involved in the Boston Marathon bombings yesterday, which killed three and injured over 140. Hopefully as the days go on we will learn more about who that person on the roof is and why they were there and who the actual suspects are so justice may be served.

I also lack trust in this administration and can see why so many might let their imagine nations run wild, but we have to keep our sanity and common sense. We have to look at everything with perspective and facts. We can't let them make us so paranoid that it allows the terrorists to succeed and the government to take more of our rights and freedoms away.

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Friends of one of the three victims killed in the Boston Marathon bombings identify A second of three victims killed in the Boston Marathon bombings has been identified as

A 29-year-old restaurant manager has been identified as one of three people killed in the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

Her father says Krystle Campbell, of Medford, Mass., had gone with her best friend to take a picture of the friend's boyfriend crossing the finish line on Monday afternoon.

William Campbell says his daughter, who worked at Jimmy's Steakhouse in nearby Arlington, was "very caring, very loving person, and was daddy's little girl." He says the loss has devastated the family.

He says the friend was seriously injured in the explosion. William told The New York Daily News that doctors initially confused his daughter's identity with the friend who survived. He says they went to visit who they thought was their daughter in her hospital room only to find it was her friend. A police detective later arrived to show the family a photo of Krystle.

An 8-year-old, Martin Richard of Boston, also died. He was at the finish line watching the race with his family.

Sad to hear of such loss of lives, thankfully it wasn't worse, but sadly any of these victims had to die because of a senseless terror attack.

The third victim hasn't been named yet pending family notification, but they are said to be a graduate student of Boston University.
