U2's Bono will overtake Paul McCartney to become the world's richest musician tomorrow thanks to Facebook IPO

U2's Bono will overtake Paul McCartney to become the world's richest musician tomorrow thanks to Facebook IPO | The Billy Pulpit | Scoop.it

Singer will leapfrog Paul McCartney when Facebook hits the stock exchange.

The U2 singer owns 2.3 per cent of the shares in Facebook through his private equity firm, Elevation Partners, which they bought for $90 million (£57 million) in 2009 and now stands to make a handsome return.

Given the social media company is currently valued at over $100billion (£63 billion), this makes Bono's share worth over $1.5 billion (£940 million) and puts him well above Paul McCartney, who is currently the world's richest rock star with a fortune of £665 million...

The Rise & Fall of Chatroulette: As told by the founder, a 17-year-old living with his parents in Moscow

The Rise & Fall of Chatroulette: As told by the founder, a 17-year-old living with his parents in Moscow | The Billy Pulpit | Scoop.it

In November 2009, an anonymous solitary entrepreneur hacked together a service that randomly paired up strangers in video chats. The phenomenon, known as Chatroulette, was bizarre, often sexually explicit, and always fascinating. Within a matter of months, Chatroulette had tens of thousands of daily users and was a media sensation in the U.S. What no one knew was that its founder was a 17-year-old video game aficionado named Andrey Ternovskiy, who lived with his parents in Moscow...

Obama Drops His Name Into the Other Presidential Biographies on White House Website

Obama Drops His Name Into the Other Presidential Biographies on White House Website | The Billy Pulpit | Scoop.it

The Heritage Foundation’s Rory Cooper tweeted that Obama had casually dropped his own name into Ronald Reagan’s official biography on www.whitehouse.gov, claiming credit for taking up the mantle of Reagan’s tax reform advocacy with his “Buffett Rule” gimmick. My first thought was, he must be joking. But he wasn’t—it turns out Obama has added bullet points bragging about his own accomplishments to the biographical sketches of every single U.S. president since Calvin Coolidge (except, for some reason, Gerald Ford). Here are a few examples...

'The U' ESPN 30 for 30 deleted scene: How Jimmy Johnson got hired at UM (VIDEO)

When Howard Schnellenberger left UM for the USFL, months after the 'Canes' first ever National Championship win, it was up to new Athletic Director Sam Jankovich to choose his replacement. TSA torments, sexually harasses woman, threatens that her belongings could be stolen because she "opted out" of nudie scanner

TSA torments, sexually harasses woman, threatens that her belongings could be stolen because she "opted out" of nudie scanner | The Billy Pulpit | Scoop.it

As often as I fly, I consider myself pretty lucky regarding my experiences with the TSA. Until today, I have only had to opt out of the ‘strip-me-naked’ scanner twice – once in Atlanta as I was flying to Miami, and then in Miami, as I was flying back to Atlanta after my trip to Costa Rica. Both times, the TSA agents didn’t do anything extraordinary, and the public molestation was at least done with a measure of decorum and professionalism by a female agent. Today, however, was different...
