CLERMONT, Fla. —A Lake County deputy spotted a 7-foot long, scaly intruder near the perimeter of Clermont Middle School on Thursday and wrestled it before it could come into contact with the students.
Jessica McGregor, who is the school resource officer, was caught on video tangling with the alligator.
She went outside, tied the alligator up with a rope and then taped its mouth, rendering it harmless.
"If one of (the students) had walked up in those bushes, they wouldn’t have seen him," she said. "He could've grabbed one."
McGregor said she wasn't scared and it wasn't the first time she's done it...
