MIAMI (CBSMiami) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers working at the Miami Seaport seized 4,300 pounds of marijuana in a single shipment on March 1st
CBP officers were conducting an initial inspection of containers on a vessel that had arrived from South America. During the inspection, the officers noticed one of the containers had been tampered with.
After a CBP K-9 alerted to the presence of the narcotics, officers opened the container to find numerous sacks filled marijuana.
A total of 40 sacks of marijuana were found with a street value of approximately $4 million dollars, making it the largest find for the Miami Seaport -- the previous record was about 3,800 pounds...(click pic to continue reading)
