POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Seven people were arrested Tuesday in a methamphetamine bust after 11 months of investigation.
Polk County officials said they purchased meth and/or observed others purchasing meth from a street-level drug dealer, identified as 38-year-old Lydia Santiago.
Investigators conducted a traffic stop on Santiago's SUV and found three pounds of meth along with $8,000 in cash. Her children were also in the SUV and turned over to the Department of Children and Families.
Detectives said when they went to Santiago's home they found a firearm and 1/2 pound of marijuana and arrested 23-year-old Jorge Morales-Vallejo.
While detectives were at her home, 22-year-old Arturo Sanchez and 24-year-old Angel Castro arrived, and detectives found 2 pounds of meth in their vehicle. They were also arrested.
Officials said they also discovered a stash house used by Arturo and Castro and seized 46 pounds of meth and two firearms. One of the firearms was stolen from Brevard County, authorities said...
