Miami assistant and former FIU head coach Mario Cristobal will be Alabama's next offensive line coach, according to two sources. Cristobal, who interviewed last week, is in Tuscaloosa on Monday to finalize the deal, according to a source.
Miami scooped up Cristobal last month as an associate head coach after he was fired byFlorida International, which finished 3-9 in 2012. A little more than a year ago, Cristobal reportedly turned down Rutgers after consecutive winning seasons with the Panthers.
Cristobal replaces Jeff Stoutland, who joined Chip Kelly's staff with the Philadelphia Eagles. This is an important hire for Alabama, which relied heavily on Stoutland for the development of a stout offensive line. UCF's assistant Brent Key also interviewed for the job last week...
