MILTON — Officials with the Department of Children and Families are investigating the third employee of the Milton Girls Facility following the center's closing in December.
The mental health technician is accused of allegedly sexually assaulting several of the juvenile girls at the facility, according to a Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office press release.
Ernest L. Parker, 52, has been charged with four counts of battery, seven counts of sexual assault on a juvenile with special conditions, three counts of lewd and lascivious on a child between 12 and 16 years old, one count of lewd and lascivious on a person 18 or older, and six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The Milton Girls Facility was a center working with the Department of Juvenile Justice that was meant to provide life skills, psychological counseling, behavior counseling and continue the juvenile girls' school in a secure environment.
The request to shut down came shortly after another employee, Shannon Abbott, 33, was charged with felony battery. Surveillance video from the facility showed Abbott pushing a teenage girl against a wall then pinning her to the floor.
The program director at the facility, Carol Andrus, also is under investigation for excessive use of force and improper conduct for grabbing the neck of a 15-year-old girl staying at the center...
