Authorities released 911 calls Wednesday in the case of a man who was bitten, most likely by a shark, in the waters off South Beach over the weekend.
The man was swimming in waist-deep water when he suddenly felt pain below his knee.
"There's a guy who was in the water. He's bleeding a lot, a lot and they don't know what happened and they're trying ..." a 911 caller said.
The victim, who was treated at Ryder Trauma Center and didn’t want to be identified, did not see a shark. But Dr. Howard Lieberman, who treated him, said Tuesday that his wounds were consistent with shark bites...
