Joshua Goodfellow, a lieutenant for the city’s fire department who was arrested and Tasered by police in April and then arrested again for an alleged DUI last week, has resigned from the department.
He had been placed on paid leave after the first incident. In April, Goodfellow, 34, was wrestled to the ground by an employee at Samantha’s Restaurant in Jupiter after Goodfellow allegedly came into the restaurant looking for his wife, who was with a friend, and shouted obscenities at her. Goodfellow left the restaurant and the doors were locked. But police officer Danielle Hirsch then found him banging on the glass door “with such force, that I thought he was going to break it,” according to the report. She Tasered him three times.
Last week, Goodfellow was arrested for an alleged DUI. His blood alcohol came back .245 and .254 in two breath tests, which is more than three times the legal limit. An officer said he had offered to arrange a ride for Goodfellow, but Goodfellow chose to drive off from a Jupiter bar, running two stop signs and then fleeing by foot from his vehicle after he was pulled over...
