How to Create an Infographic in Under an Hour [+10 Free Templates]

How to Create an Infographic in Under an Hour [+10 Free Templates] | The Best of Art & Imagination | Scoop.it

Wouldn't it be great if creating infographics was just as simple as writing regular ole text-based blog posts? Unfortunately, the reality is that making visual content like this usually takes a lot more time, effort, and let's face it -- skill -- than the written word.

Usually. But considering the popularity and effectiveness of visual content in marketing today, you can't just afford to throw in the towel. That's why we decided to take all the pain and suffering out of infographic creation.

Seriously -- don't throw in the towel just yet. You, too, can create professional-looking, high-quality infographics ... quickly! And I'm going to prove it. First things first ...

No more plastic food pieces for the next generation of children.  Incredible.  Not only are they functional, they are gourmet-like. The trend is also gender neutral--with the celebrity chefs, so boys are enjoying the kitchen.  Goodbye memories of my Easy-Bake Oven...

Great article form Time.

lindabenn's curator insight, March 30, 6:22 PM

I love starting my day with a workout. It is priority for me and sets the tone for the rest of the day. Even the days where I dont have time to go to the gym, I will do my own exercise at home on my yoga mat. I love doing Ab's everyday. Summer is my favorite and being outdoors and getting some sunshine is the best. When I lived in Australia the beach and ocean was my workout- so energizing! Now in NoCal I love a variety of different classes at the gym, plus have a personal trainer and outdoors hiking and bike riding. I love to swim laps too though only a hot sunny day so I also absorb Vitamin D.

Googler: Win Every Interview with these 6 Steps | The Best of Art & Imagination | Scoop.it
Three unbelievably cool things happened to me this week. On Monday, my publisher sent me the first hardcover copies of my new book, Work Rules! It’s a real thing now! On Tuesday, the CEO of a major company told me he’d been following my interviews with Tom Friedman about how to get a job at Google, or anywhere. He asked how his company could adopt some of those same practices. Someone is listening! And on Wednesday, a new Googler stopped me in one of our on-campus cafes. He told me, “I read every one of your articles about resumes and what Google looks for, did what you said,

Brilliant, brilliant!  Fortunately, we have a treasure trove of his knife sharp thoughts on what he felt mattered to future journalists.  And then consider his introductory remarks to students (Carr was not interested in sharing his resume):

“Your professor is a terrible singer and a decent dancer. He is a movie crier but stone-faced in real life. He never laughs even when he is actually amused. He hates suck-ups, people who treat waitresses and cab drivers poorly and anybody who thinks diversity is just an academic conceit. He is a big sucker for the hard worker and is rarely dazzled by brilliance. He has little patience for people who pretend to ask questions when all they really want to do is make a speech.

Why Sleep Training Is A Feminist Issue - Role Reboot

Why Sleep Training Is A Feminist Issue - Role Reboot | The Best of Art & Imagination | Scoop.it
Mothers are two and a half times more likely than fathers to cover the nightshift of caretaking. Arianna Huffington has deemed sleep the next big feminist issue, because women are significantly more sleep deprived than men. Without enough sleep, she argues, we cannot reach our full potential as a sex: “A nation of sleepy women is …
Linda Alexander's insight:

When I worked in the corporate setting in the 1980s, obtaining a full night of sleep was referred to as being a "light-weight".  CEO's delighted in telling employees that they required hardly any sleep.  Who needs sleep...you're not a bear...get to work!  Almost thirty years later Arianna Huffington's heralds in a new age and mindset about taking care of ourselves.  My feeling is this applies to both men and women.  I actually heard Arianna give a keynote presentation on sleep four years ago in California and it resonated with me---and all my sleep-deprived years.  How I wish this healthier perspective could have been the battlecry in the corporate world years ago...
