Live vicariously through a man who was way more interesting than your typical status update. Let the Hemingway Status Hijacker take control of your facebook timeline.

Through this link you can let Hemingway hijack your Facebook timeline for an entire day. You could be, like, Hemingway! Okay, I am reading "The Paris Wife"right now and not feeling the Hemingway love, but an imaginative idea. Should we try it? In the end, a clever ad campaign that will surely create some buzz... Leave it to Dove to crank out a powerful ad about beauty that you'll still be thinking about days from now.
Linda Alexander's insight:
This is a very clever, creative way to connect Dove to beauty. It is not an obvious way to connect a product to a message, which makes it work all the better. And the experiment is interesting on a personal level because it stays with you for some time, although I am interested in better understanding their research and the evidence that this outcome, that we see ourselves as less beautiful than the general public, is fairly consistent across the human population of women. A yearlong illustrated celebration of remarkable women who shaped the world and our place in it.
Linda Alexander's insight:
I simply love this perspective on art: "One of the great functions of art is to help us imagine what it is like to be not ourselves, what it is like to be someone or something else, what it is like to live in another skin, what it is like to live in another body, and in that sense to surpass ourselves, to go out beyond ourselves." --Adrienne Rich (May 16, 1929 — March 27, 2012)

p/ppThe 2013 global leaders in technology design media music movies marketing television sports and more. /ppWhat have you learned from the world's...
Linda Alexander's insight:
Yes, a really interesting list to review and consider in terms of their creative focus or the company they actually represent. Let's take Nate Silver, listed at #1 here. Nate is asked if big data is the next revolution. Nate responds that we almost never know the next revolution before it actually happens. That's true... As for Nate Silver himself the article shares, "he has shown every doubter, with almost unerring consistency, that a skinny supernerd with a big data set and a killer algorithm can be a swashbuckler, too. Silver's Wikipedia entry now clocks in at more than 6,100 words--about double the length of the entry on Bob Woodward, the legendary Watergate reporter. No journalist has ever become so famous so fast, let alone so fluent in statistics. Delete the scoop?

As organizations and individuals succeed, it gets more difficult to innovate. There are issues of coordination, sure, but mostly it's about fear. The fear of failing is greater, because it seems as though you've got more to lose.

Parents who are raising children with a practice known as elimination communication say it can keep diapers out of landfills and help them bond with their offspring.

"Parents are drawn to the method as a way of preserving the environment from the ravages of disposable diapers, as well as reducing the laundering of cloth diapers and preventing diaper rash." So, there! Delete the scoop?

Looking to hire for creativity? Research says you should look for these traits (but, be warned, not all of them make someone easy to work with). Via MyCreativeTeam
Linda Alexander's insight:
An interesting study on the personality traits of highly creative people. Some traits are widely considered positive characteristics while other traits negative. Overall, while the study results are interesting, it's always important that we don't place people in specific boxes. There are always wide variations of traits in any human population.
