Woman will go to great lengths to get a 'feel' of the group.

Bay City Rollers (album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bay City Rollers, released in late 1975, was the first full-length album by Scotland's Bay City Rollers to be issued in the USA and Canada. The compilation, which hit #1 in the RPM Canadian album chart on February 7, 1976[2] and reached as high as #20 on the US album chart, included the US and Canadian #1 hit single "Saturday Night".[3]

The LP contained tracks culled mostly from the band's first three UK-only albums: 5 songs from Rollin', 4 songs from Once Upon a Star and 1 song from Wouldn't You Like It - along with 1 brand new song. In addition, this album contains the US mix of "Summerlove Sensation" (a much fuller mix with strings), which finally became available on CD on the US release "Definitive Collection".

According to my mum, who happens to be one of the 'Bay City Rollers' fans, the release of the groups first hit album brought 'shock waves' all around the world making fans even more hysterical.

This interview shows the bands true personality and what they were really like 'off stage'. It shows how they respected their fans and didn't take being famous for granted. When i showed my mum this interview, she screamed with excitement as she too used to be a 'Woody fan'.

Bianca's insight:

This article deeply displays the true side of what the 'Bay City Rollers' meant to their fans. It is interesting to see how much people do in order to meet their 'love'. From the point of view of two crazy fans, it is clear that the 'Rollers' held a deep hold over their fans causing them to go towards great lengths in order to get one touch, glimpse, feel of their 'idols'.

There was something about this group that brought such craziness upon teenage girls in the 1970's. My mother was one of them who even snuck into the hotel lift that the band was staying at in Sydney at the time, at the age of 15, along with her friends. Although they only got to catch a glimpse of the 'roller's' with their shirts off before security pushed them back into the lift, my mum says it was one of the best moments of her life.
