I don't know why i wanted so badly to scoop that buuuut ,well, after an afternoon with my boyfriend the refreshment and joy are undeniable..and well, christie i thought of youu.Do you believe that there are sometimes that the feelings we have are more intense than other times??and why songs and music in general help us express that? what power do they activate??Maybe this is one of the many sides of the importance of art?? feelings' expressions(that sometimes are vital to the psychological harmony because if we can't express them this actual time we feel extremely full)??? Opinion please:)
Christina Prentza's insight:
After having heard the story of that day(which lead you to posting this) I can fully understand why you felt like that! You know, our need to express ourselves through art is so strong! And of course it's not only about the bad feelings but also the feelings of excitement and unlimited happiness! So yes, when your inner system is that intense and there is no other way to let it out, of course music is the one that helps! Art is powerful, no one can deny that! What kind of power it activates? Well, that cannot be said or written, but only felt! And about your parenthesis! You couldn't have posed it better! Humans have the tendency to express whatever they have inside them! That doesn't mean they don't want it, they just want to show it and let the others know about it! And under certain circumstances when they can't literally do it, then comes the Art! My opinion, of course! :)
Ok Christie, we are agreed that music is a form of art but do you think that each and every type of music can be considered as art?? If yes this means that some songs or pieces can't be regarded as art...then, is there an objective way of defining them? Which are the criteria???
Christina Prentza's insight:
I will answer your questions straightforward!
If a piece(whatever this is-song,drawing etc) can express a single person's feelings then yes it is considered as art! Because Art is about expressing yourself! I hope I covered you! :)
