As a part of its Intelligence Series, The Atlantic presents the Technologies in Education Forum. This will be a discussion of video games, STEM education and the future of the American classroom with information regarding what public policies are necessary to bring new technologies into classrooms, how educational video games are changing the way students learn, and how new technologies can be used to improve vital intellectual skills and prepare the near future American workforce to compete in an increasingly advanced global economy. Featured speakers include Sandra Calvert of the Children's Media Center at Georgetown University, Karen Cator of the U.S. Department of Education, Alan Gershenfeld of E-line Media and Katie Salen of the Institute of Play and Quest to Learn schools.
