"College students may be more likely to complete their degrees over an eight-year period than the traditional four-year time frame, according to data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System. IPEDS studied more than 7,400 public and private colleges and universities that participated in financial aid programs in the 2012-13 academic year. The study found that graduation rates at four-year colleges for students who began in 2004 rose from 38.1% who graduated "on time" to 60% for those who graduated eight years after they enrolled in school."
