Hope Has A New Name - V I C E - Special Report Killing Cancer

Hope Has A New Name - V I C E - Special Report Killing Cancer | Personal Branding Using Scoopit | Scoop.it

Magical Vice
Shame Smith's magical behind the scenes look at how we will cure cancer in our lifetime for Vice is inspirational, amazing and life affirming. Curing cancer is here and now and it involves wizard thinking, blinding new technologies and the kind of "out of the box" thinking that defines America and Americans (not to slight our creative neighbors to the north as Canadians are fully represented too).

Great show and inspirational for all but especially for cancer patients , their friends and families.

Quora's Cool Helpful Embedded Quotes Widget

Quora's Cool Helpful Embedded Quotes Widget | Personal Branding Using Scoopit | Scoop.it
Today we're launching Embedded Quotes to make it easier to add content from Quora to your websites. Sites all around the web already quote content from Quora which extends the distribution and impact writers on Quora have.
Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Writing a piece about widgetization found this cool Quora widget for embedding quotes or entire Q&A content. Cool enough that I may need to put Quora back in content creation rotation. Q&A conent is some of the most powerful SEO content on the planet. It always felt like I was making Quora richer than US so used Quora for a bit and then trailed off. May need to rethink that now.

Meeting And Taking Photographs With Annie Leibovitz

Meeting And Taking Photographs With Annie Leibovitz | Personal Branding Using Scoopit | Scoop.it

Hanging Out With Annie Liebovitz
Working on my Digital Marketing For Business presentation I had a chance to include a link to this post about meeting and hanging out with the photographer Annie Liebovitz.

Annie is generous, kind and seemed to enjoy OUR taking pictures of HER. If that strikes you like a huge DUH, you are right.

One of my great regrets is not handing the camera to Annie and asking her to take pictures of US (oh well).

This was a FUN day and one of the special moments of my life. Not because meeting a celebrity is so cool, but because Annie, a personal hero, is an artist worthy of RESPECT and ADMIRATION.

Her talent is immense, but her ego small - a rare combination.

Post is from ScentTrail Marketinghttp://scenttrail.blogspot.com/2008/05/meeting-annie-leibovitz.html

Picture is of the artist William Wegman and his beloved dog Fay Ray.

https://klout.com/#/ScentTrail Never really noticed this page before, but love it. Can't figure out the algorithm that controls it and that makes it kind of fun. Can't figure out how to make it work as it acts like a pass through - content goes to other nets like Twitter or Facebook - but cool page. Bound to be a way to use it. Has anyone? How?

Repurpose Existing Content for Easy SEO Links

Repurpose Existing Content for Easy SEO Links | Personal Branding Using Scoopit | Scoop.it
We've all had clients (or bosses, etc.) who were tough to please or asked what seemed like too much of us.

Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Like this idea but would warn against duplication of content. Make sure if you have content in more than one place you use a canonical URL to tell Google which one (of the multiple URLs) to index.

Brilliant Social Marketing - Fund The Car The Dodge Dart Gift Registry

Brilliant Social Marketing - Fund The Car The Dodge Dart Gift Registry | Personal Branding Using Scoopit | Scoop.it
Most engaged couples, if they’re not doing the shotgun boogie, start a gift registry for wedding attendees that includes dishes, silverware, kitchen appliances or other household necessities. Now they can add a 2013 Dodge Dart to their list.
Martin (Marty) Smith's insight:

Dodge Creates Cool Social "Registry"

Buying a car SHOULD be a social event. We don't buy cars all that often anymore, not nearly every year like my grandfather. Kudos to Doge for creating a way to "fund the car" one social piece and donation at a time.

They creative use of a "gift registry" creates a team around buying a car. The app will increase the size of the market for Dodge because it expands how a car can be "financed" via a mini-crowdfunding campaign.

If you were a REALLY creative Internet marketer and you were about to get married you would create a campaign and "fund the car". Another cool idea would be to fund the car with friends and friends of friends and then donate the money to a good cause and buy the car yourself. Share that end goal in the copy of course, but "fund the car" could be a cool wedding present / save the world gift.
