Scooped a great piece from @TMGmedia earlier about how your blog is your converison work horse http://sco.lt/4ichv7 and now Ana shares some great tips on creating a "blog study" to help your blog work even harder to support your content marketing.

For example, look at an educator blog (Bill Ferriter, Will Richardson or Dean Shareski could be good options) and have teachers subscribe through email to their posts. As they write, perhaps have a discussion time once a week or month, on things that were stated in the blog, and whether they agree or disagree, and how those ideas apply to your school. You can host a chat online through something like twitter, or keep them offline if that is what works best for your community. Ensure that if you do pick a blog, make sure that it is someone that updates consistently and perhaps connect with the blog author and let them know that you are doing a “blog study” on their work. This is something that you do not have to do with necessarily an educator blog (Seth Godin would be an interesting one), but I think that it would be more applicable to use a blog on education for schools. Here are some of the reasons this would be beneficial:

Just scooped that Social Nets are cool, but the conversion and influence work horse for most content marketers is their blog. Great ideas here for how to have your blog work even harder for your content. #StealThis

**** The most displease Twitter-thing is the TIME to BENEFIT ratio seems off since MUCH WORK benefits little, so looking for a new approach. Marty Have you become desensitized and disillusioned with Twitter?
Do you feel like you are suffering from Twitter Tiredness?
Do you feel like you are “tweeting in the dark”, spending more and more time on Twitter but getting less and less out of it?
I know the story. A few months (or years) ago, you signed up for a Twitter account. You dutifully wrote a clever bio, uploaded your picture and started tweeting. Maybe you followed some accounts and learned a bit about the culture and etiquette of the network before sending your first tweet.
After following a few people and building a following of your own, you started following more and more and retweeting more and more, all while spending less and less time engaging in conversations and writing original tweets.

Jason W. Womack wrote this article for all of us, who struggle with information overload. I selected it because.......
To be a good content curator, the first step is knowing how to harness your attention, to be able to filter, focus, and find the best and be able to leave the rest
**It's important to keep refining your daily habits and the author has some great suggestions on how to do that.
Excerpt:
Jason Womack warns "in the age of information overload, when it comes to what we have time to focus on, we are often forced to sacrifice quality for quantity.
Here's what caught my attention:
**Stop multi-tasking When you multi-task, you can't give your undivided attention the the things you're working on.
**Set a timer for 15-minute intervals Womack says that our days are actually made up of about 100 15-minute intervals. In fact 15 minutes is just about the right "chunk" of time for us to be able to stay focused, minimize interruptions and work effectively
**Know when you're not focused and implement ways to refocus When you're working with your timer, write down eah instance when you lose focus-even if it's just to look at a clock to see what time it is.
**Carry a camera with you Carrying a camera with you is actually a great way to become more in tune with your environment.
**I do this one and it really helps bring me into the present moment
**Listen more There are three different learning styles: visual, auditory and kinesthetic. Everyone in your network falls into one of these categories.
**(very important tip, when you're not talking and focusing your attention here, it's an amazing experience on so many levels)

Turning 55 on 1.1.2013
In a few hours I turn 55. Couldn't have gotten here without a lot of help from family, friends and doctors (lol). Since it has take the Gross National Product of a small country to keep me here after three rounds of chemo I appreciate this birthday fully.
As I shared in Why Cancer Sucks...Mostly I'm glad the Big C's invisible hand has changed my life. Well maybe not "glad" but thankful. I'm thankful for the amazing people who've saved my life more than once. I'm thankful for having parents and a brother and a sister who are good in emergencies (lol). I'm thankful for having such amazing FOMs (Friends of Martin).
There are still BIG things on the Bucket List. I told my parents about the Elizabeth Martin and Duncan Smith Story of Cancer Trust in a letter this year so now the clock is ticking :).
The clock is always ticking and that is how life should be lived with an appreciation of each moment's magic, joy and connection. Since it takes an army of people with a variety of skills to make my life possible I say thanks, Thanks and THANKS.
Some will know how fully I love and appreciate them. Others who've help save my life won't be reading this post. I hope every It's A Wonderful Life person knows how much of a difference they've made. I understand my responsibility.
My responsibility is to pay the miracle of my life as far forward as possible. How many more New Years will we have? Who knows, but no matter how many more New Years we have together the mission is the same - cure cancer in our lifetime and love each other in this moment now.
Thanks and much love to all.
