Spanish-English Legal Terminology Workshop

During this 3 part online workshop, participants will learn common English translations for a variety of Spanish legal terms, enabling them to complete a comprehensive glossary. The workshop will be interactive, including tests and polls throughout to encourage participant engagement. Finally, all participants will be provided with the opportunity to complete a Spanish>English legal translation sample, which will then be marked offline by the instructor, Suzanne Deliscar, a Canadian lawyer-linguist. Please note that the terminology discussed in this course would be terms used in the North American context.
Next course starts on: 10 April 2013 at noon EDT (5 pm British summer time). There will be 3 sessions at one week intervals (10 April, 17 April and 24 April) at the same time each week.

Instructor: The course will be delivered by Suzanne Deliscar. Suzanne Deliscar is a Canadian lawyer-linguist who translates in the French-English and Spanish-English language pairs. She focuses on legal and official document translation, as well as contract abstraction and e-discovery in Spanish and French. She is also the developer and presenter of over 13 webinar programs for translators and interpreters, focusing on legal translation, official document translation, and marketing.

Beginner Spanish>English translators who want to start working in the legal translation field, or who have recently started and wish to receive feedback on their current Spanish>English translation skills.
