"The Hendersonville Library Friends semi-annual book sale will begin Tuesday at the Hendersonville Public Library, 140 Saundersville Road. The sale will be open during regular library hours. Hardcover books are $3, paperbacks are $1 and children’s items are 50 cents. Plus, there are DVDs, CDs and audio books “priced to sell.”"

"The funding for Tennessee’s interlibrary loan(ILL) book program has recently been eliminated under a reorganization of the state’s library system. Under the ILL plan, libraries located in the counties of Northeast Tennessee are able to borrow and lend books for their patrons and are delivered via a statewide courier system."

"After he began work at the Tennessee Department of Conservation in 1937, James L. Bailey crisscrossed the state, preaching the benefits of protecting natural resources. Throughout his long career, he became such a widely-known advocate for proper use of land, development of parks and recreational areas, restoration of wildlife and protection of water sources that he was nicknamed “Mr. Conservation.” Also a photographer, he compiled an extensive collection of photographs."
