Shona Whyte's insight:
Nice slides with good advice for moving learners away from school assignments towards more modern, personal and engaging talks. "Beware the first idea that pops into your head" is my favourite of the 52 tips, which include some psychobabble but otherwise solid advice and concrete suggestions. Delete the scoop?

"Slideonline.com lets you upload and share PowerPoint and PDF presentations online, publicly or privately - free."
Sometimes you want to have your slides online but not public before you give your presentation, or want your learners to be able to keep their work private. This tool seems to fill the gap left when slideshare switched private uploading to their premium option. Via Baiba Svenca Delete the scoop?

Shona Whyte: High school social studies teacher Spiro Bolos guest blogs on Richard Byrnes' Free Technology for Teachers website on combining low-text Powerpoint slides with Voicethread or Google Apps comment options to make lectures less "one-way" by integrating "student voices."
In the foreign language classroom, this technique could be employed to improve interaction around student-created presentations also. Delete the scoop?

Geetesh Bajaj has a blog on presenting with powerpoint, with tips and tutorials on the software, but also guidelines for preparing presentations.
Here he focuses on the 20x20 Pecha Kucha format (20 slides, 20 seconds per slide), with some good advice on how to prepare and present such talks.
