Free Technology for Teachers: Download The Practical Ed Tech Handbook

Free Technology for Teachers: Download The Practical Ed Tech Handbook | TELT | Scoop.it

Richard Byrne: For the last couple of days I've been assembling a collection of my favorite ed tech resources and organizing them into a PDF that I'm calling The Practical Ed Tech Handbook. This isn't just a list of my favorite resources. I've included ideas for using these resources and in many cases I've included links to video tutorials about my favorite resources.

In The Practical Ed Tech Handbook you will find resources arranged in seven categories; communication with students & parents, web search strategies, digital citizenship, video creation, audio production, backchannels & informal assessment, and digital portfolios.

Shona Whyte's insight:

Lots of useful tools and ideas for using them.

What should every ESL teacher know: Paul Nation

What should every ESL teacher know: Paul Nation | TELT | Scoop.it
Shona Whyte's insight:

Free legal download from Compass Media (sign-up required).  200 page PDF; Nation says, "I have decided that I will make this book freely available on the web to all teachers and teacher-trainees. I am happy for the book to be made available in hard copy and distributed in electronic or hard copy form as long as this is not done for profit, and it is properly acknowledged."

Nice jargon-free presentation, suitable for non-native undergraduate training, with unintimidating further reading including websites, journal articles, and some of Nation's other work.
