| TELT | Scoop.it

Audrey Miller, educational technology specialist, summarises a recent ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) discussion on LinkedIn suggested that tablets are rendering the IWB redundant.  On the contrary, she claims the IWB is a giant tablet, and like the tablet, most effectively used by the learners (and not the teacher).

Francesco Zambotti – How to Get Your Students Actually Using your IWB | DigitaLang

Francesco Zambotti – How to Get Your Students Actually Using your IWB | DigitaLang | TELT | Scoop.it

A classroom example of learners using the IWB instead of teachers spending hours preparing lesson files ...

Paul Magione writes: "Francesco Zambotti is a research assistant at Bolzano Free University and Erickson Publishers of Trento. His area of specialisation is the pedagogically sound use of new technology in the classroom […]

Francesco found a video on YouTube with a clever animation showing how a Roman road was actually built. The sort of thing that your can find really easily if you do a quick bit of Googling. He then gets his students to use the camera tool on the IWB notebook software to take still photos of each phase of the road being built. In other words, with very little preparation, the teacher can get the students using the board, constructing their own learning and thinking more carefully about what is being taught instead of just passively absorbing it.

This research focuses on one aspect of a professional training course that alternates two moments: first, teacher trainees administer online language sessions thanks to a videoconferencing tool (Visu).

Sandy Millin - Go online: getting your students to use Internet resources | TELT | Scoop.it

Sandy Millin says "Ultimately, we shouldn’t force our students to use technology if they don’t really want to. It doesn’t suit everyone. However, if we at least show them what’s out there and give them the chance to experiment with it, students can make their own decisions about whether or not to use the tools."

A good selection of tools and activities for students to exploit in class and out, with computers, tablets, or smart phones.

le travail d’enregistrement personnel à faire à la maison, (de la même manière qu’un exercice de grammaire peut être à faire pour la séance suivante) ;

la correction collégiale du travail à faire avec implication des élèves ;

l'entraînement individuel puis évaluation d’une activité langagière ;

At a time when action- and task-based learning is sustained by the European Council, this paper explores which types of tasks are given to second language learners today and what aspects these tasks have in common.

Elke Nissen, ALSIC 2011.
