Welcome to Lit2Go ETC | TELT | Scoop.it
Welcome
"Lit2Go is a free online collection of stories and poems in Mp3 (audiobook) format. An abstract, citation, playing time, and word count are given for each of the passages. Many of the passages also have a related reading strategy identified. Each reading passage can also be downloaded as a PDF and printed for use as a read-along or as supplemental reading material for your classroom."

Shona Whyte:
Mostly American out-of-copyright classics aimed at native-speakers, but well put together for teachers (transcript, reading level, word count) so usable for intermediate-plus teen or adult learners.

30 Online Multimedia Resources for PBL and Flipped Classrooms

30 Online Multimedia Resources for PBL and Flipped Classrooms | TELT | Scoop.it
The Resource for Education Technology Leaders focusing on K-12 educators.

Shona Whyte:

Michael Gorman has a nice list of teaching resources, from familiar sites such as the BBC or PBS teachers to more specifically targeted science resources, for example.  A short introduction to each will help you decide which to explore and which to leave for another time.

There is nothing exclusively for language teaching, but these are English resources and many are aimed at under 18s, so much of what you see can be exploited in the EFL classroom under the "authentic materials" umbrella.

Learn Songs : Charles Kelly

Charles Kelly has a good list of folk songs, nursery rhymes and campfire songs (Jingle Bells, Twinkle Twinkle, Swanee River) which he has recorded for learners to listen and repeat.

Some also have a pedagogical focus on pronunciation: on Twinkle Twinkle, it's the flap ("soft t") in "little" and palatalisation in "what-you" ("whatchou").

The recordings are iPod compatible and you can watch some on YouTube.

Ozge Karaoglu Ergen cites some digital storytelling sites (Storybird, Animoto).  Pete Sharma has a short piece on blended learning.

You do have to sign up and the resources are in PDF format, so it's not particularly user-friendly.  Also, older resources (over 3 months) are locked for full (paying) members.

Learning English Online : Freiburg University of Education

Learning English Online : Freiburg University of Education | TELT | Scoop.it

This new English language learning portal has been developed by a team at the Pädagogische Hochschule of Freiburg as a complement to the state of Baden-Würtemburg's school programmes (level A1-A2; there is also a German version of the site).

It offers a traditional language course (based on the imaginary family so beloved of school textbooks), then additional sections on the four language skills and  language areas (vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation), some cultural options plus two extra sections called "magazine" and "videos" with links to external websites like the BBC.

A lot of different sections and links to explore, and more material to come.  I'd be interested to hear opinions ...

This looks like a nice site for digital storytelling.  You can draw, type, upload photos and add your own narration.  You can also access stories submitted by members.  Free registration and access to public tales; there's a commercial side too.

There seems to be a problem with FlashPlayer 11.2 which they believe will be resolved when 11.3 is released.
