« Les établissements scolaires accueillent aujourd'hui de nombreuses solutions numériques pour faciliter le travail des enseignants et des élèves. L'utilisation des tablettes tactiles en contexte pédagogique est bien sûr l'une des illustrations les plus parlantes. Des solutions plus complexes et intégrées émergent également aujourd'hui, qui permettent de substituer le « tableau noir » à des dispositifs partiellement ou entièrement numériques. C'est le cas de l'offre « e-Ecole pour tous de SFR », un pack d'outils et de services pédagogiques qui permet aux enseignants d'organiser leur cours autour d'un « tableau blanc interactif » connecté à internet.

Infomerciale SFR/SMART, mais commentaire intéressant de l'enseignante du primaire du reportage :

 

"Je n'ai personnellement eu aucune difficulté particulière, comme j'ai bénéficié d'une très bonne formation sur l'utilisation du tableau et du logiciel. L'interface de ce dernier est par ailleurs très claire, les icônes sont faciles à comprendre. Même si l'on ne se souvient pas de l'intégralité de la formation, on retrouve intuitivement tout ce qu'on peut faire avec le logiciel. 

En revanche, l'intégration du tableau blanc demande de repenser la manière dont on présente les cours. Cela demande un peu de travail pour modifier le support, en créer d'autres, et tirer partie du côté « interactif » que procure cette solution."

 

Pour moi la "très bonne formation" est plutôt rare, mais le côté "intuitif" de la prise en main du TBI l'est moins, ainsi que l'envie de changement pédagogique pour rendre les enseignements plus interactifs.

Teaching English for Specific Purposes: specialisation and domains of expertise

Discourse domain approach to teaching ESP and application to task-based university courses.

I argue that we can use the notion of discourse domain to inform task-based teaching for all kinds of ESP, including students who are traditionally classified as "specialist" (pre-service EFL teachers) and "non-specialist" or "specialists in other disciplines" (LANSAD; or usual ESP fields such as medicine, law etc.).

This looks like a very rich resource suitable for intermediate university learners and above.  Content is divided into Writing, Reading, Speaking and Grammar, and presented in short sections with activities for learners and feedback which can be hidden or revealed.

Queen Mary's University, London, have now made available for free a set of online EAP resources for supplementary study. These were previously developed and only made availablje internally to QMUL students. The task bank is now open access.

This search engine allows you to access the database of European legislation in any EU language and it brings up texts which are available in at least two languages.

 

My colleague Margarita Georgieva who teaches translation at the University of Nice explains:

 

"If you are looking for legislative texts or any specialized texts, there is a database of translations which has both English and French versions - http://eur-lex.europa.eu/
You can search for keywords. From tissue paper to toothpaste and fisheries... anything you think of, they have it.  […] They are great to use in class - to compare translations and suggest improvements or to learn vocabulary."
