The Best Language Learning Apps For 2015 | Listly List

Via Yuly Asencion
Shona Whyte's insight:

I haven't looked properly, but there seems a lot of just memorising lexical items here, with a sprinkling of unstructured videochat with native speakers.  Maybe apps aren't the way to go, or the right kind hasn't yet been designed ...

Thinking about Syncing? iOS Apps for World Language education - Catherine Ousselin | TELT | Scoop.it

I have compiled a fairly comprehensive list of Apps designed for Apple products (iPhone, iPod, and iPad). These Apps are helpful for both the learner and the educator. Many are free, some are under $5.00, and a few are major purchases (+$15.00). These lists will all update regularly with your input. Below are links to other experts in the mobile device technology area.

Shona Whyte's insight:

Lots of apps, beautifully organised and presented.

How Teachers Are Making Cell Phones Work in the Classroom

How Teachers Are Making Cell Phones Work in the Classroom | TELT | Scoop.it

Interesting example of using mobile apps in high school classes:

"Students work in groups, and when they have a question, they call him over. He arrives with iPad in hand and records his voice and his writing on the iPad, which he immediately uploads to the class website so other students can benefit from the explanations instantaneously. (This, by the way, is another form of flipped teaching, he says.)

This way, if I need to explain a common question, everyone can access it,” he says. “I don’t have to repeat myself going from group to group.” But rather than stop what everybody else is doing so he can explain a concept, students can watch the video he just created if they need to. “I’ll just tell them to look at the online tutorials to find out about common questions,” he says."

"Appsmashing requires skill and experience with the apps utilized, and relies for example on creating products in one app and storing them on the device’s photoroll or in the cloud, and then developing that product through another app to produce a more elaborate product."

Gewoon eens proberen!
