Introduction
WorldCALL has held an international conference every five years since the opening of its first conference in Australia in 1998, the second in Canada in 2003 the third in Japan and the fourth was hosted for the first time in Europe, promoted by the University of Ulster in Glasgow in July 2013. One of the unique features of the conference is that the participants of WorldCALL include not only the researchers from advanced countries, but also those from a range of countries that are underserved in the CALL areas. The theme of the 2013 conference was “Sustainability and Computer-Assisted Language Learning” to reflect the focus on the future direction and development of CALL.

Objective
This special issue would like to invite those from the WorldCALL 2013 Conference to consider submitting a manuscript for inclusion in this scholarly journal.

Some of my slides from today's talk about how the French teachers in the iTILT project (http://itilt.eu) used the IWB to teach English, including a tentative teacher development framework related to Beauchamp (2004), findings from our CALL paper to appear later this month, and a foretaste of further work with Euline Cutrim Schmid on interactional opportunities with the IWB, including video communication.
