Parents4Parents (P4P) is a Self Help Voluntary organisation promoting the Health & Well-being of the whole community. Using a holistic approach P4P delivers high quality services; that have assisted many individuals to achieve by them helping to learn new skills and building their confidence.
Meeting local needs has been our main aim and through partnership we have been able to achieve this. P4P promotes good practice; and encourages involvement and participation into the wider community.
Our Intergenerational programme has been specifically designed to engage with families and individuals at risk of exclusion. We have had many achievements supporting individuals via training and workshops helping to make the most of the opportunities and support available to them. These sessions promote health & well being.
The focus of our activities are our Intergenerational Salsa sessions and personal development performance. P4P welcome all people regardless of their personal circumstances.
I believe that we can take a lot from the Opposition Day Debate on the Bedroom tax. The coalition's Government majority was cut to only 26 and our views were represented in the House of Commons. It is a step in the right direction.

We call for:
A Cumulative Impact Assessment of all cuts and changes affecting sick & disabled people, their families and carers, and a free vote on repeal of the Welfare Reform Act.
An immediate end to the Work Capability Assessment, as voted for by the British Medical Association.
Consultation between the Depts of Health & Education to improve support into work for sick & disabled people, and an end to forced work under threat of sanctions for people on disability benefits.
An Independent, Committee-Based Inquiry into Welfare Reform, covering but not limited to: (1) Care home admission rises, daycare centres, access to education for people with learning difficulties, universal mental health treatments, Remploy closures; (2) DWP media links, the ATOS contract, IT implementation of Universal Credit; (3) Human rights abuses against disabled people, excess claimant deaths & the disregard of medical evidence in decision making by ATOS, DWP & the Tribunal Service.
