Have used some of these apps but there are more to look at.

Homeschool FL's curator insight, June 2, 2013 8:33 PM

Educational apps are popping up daily, but the question for parents is, how to know which ones are worth using, and which ones are not? Because let's face it, the app industry is out to make money, and many times app developers are very astute at making an app that "looks" educational, but in reality is just full of ads and sneaky ways of getting your children to buy something.

This article lists 46 different websites that review apps for teachers and students. This should help cut through the clutter and help pinpoint the useful from the fluff.

Ness Crouch's curator insight, June 4, 2013 5:45 AM

K-5 iPad Apps According to Bloom's Taxonomy - Edutopia

K-5 iPad Apps According to Bloom's Taxonomy - Edutopia | Technology Tools for Elementary | Scoop.it

"In this six-part series, I will highlight apps useful for developing higher order thinking skills in grades K-5 classrooms. Each list will highlight a few apps that connect to the various stages on Bloom's continuum of learning. Given the size and current exponential growth of the app market, I will also assist educators in setting criteria necessary to identify apps that maintain the integrity of teaching for thinking."

Great information!
Elizabeth Dalton's curator insight, June 21, 6:23 PM

This looks like a great series - I reviewed a few of the posts and they are very well organized. Each one provides a summary review of a component of Bloom's Taxonomy and an explanation of connections with apps. Then there are specific examples of apps provided. A great resource for diversifying your instruction.
